About Me
I grew up in New York, then went off to attend and graduate college in Maryland where I met my amazing husband, Kyle (who at the time was playing football for the Baltimore Ravens). We now call the Bay Area our home and Kyle has been fortunate enough to have played in the NFL 11 seasons.
Everyone always asks if I studied fashion in college and the answer is no! Although, my love for sewing was kind of instilled in me at a young age. I spent countless nights crocheting with my grandma while watching Wheel of Fortune. I definitely hung up my needle and thread for a few years…more like 20 years.
I rediscovered my love of sewing one Halloween when I decided to make a costume for Kyle and I. After finishing that project, I got a feeling like I’ve never felt before, a feeling like this is what I should have been doing my whole life. I then began reworking my game day outfits for Kyle’s games. I started reworking old t-shirts, jerseys, and even footballs into fresh designs. I continue to challenge myself to create new styles and broaden my skill set.
I am completely self taught. I’ve learned everything I know from YouTube. I have to say I’ve never felt more fulfilled in my life. I absolutely love what I do and just want to let you all know it’s never too late in life to rediscover a passion or talent! Oh & I can’t forget…my last name is pronounced ‘use-check’. -Kristin
Stay tuned for upcoming drops
